Over the decades, the second Sunday in February each year has become the highlight of every New Zealand car lover’s calendar. That’s when thousands of car enthusiasts join the simply curious at Auckland’s Ellerslie Race Course to see the country’s biggest line up of classics – many of them rated among the world’s best restorations.

Beach Hop started in 2001 and remains a not for profit event, with all proceeds going to the local Onemana and Whangamata Surf Life Saving Clubs as well as the Whangamata Volunteer Coastguards. The winner of our 1962 Ford Galaxie will be announced at this event!
